Liberty Yard is set to transform an underused site in Liberty Village into an innovative mixed-use development. Designed by BDP Quadrangle for First Capital, this project will seamlessly integrate with the main thoroughfares, including the future Smart Track station. The development will include proposed 34, 33, and 29-storey mixed-use condominium buildings. This project is located at the northwest corner of East Liberty Street and Lynn Williams Street in Toronto’s Liberty Village.
A New Urban Park
A large public park will anchor the Liberty Yard development. The park will connect various open spaces into a continuous pedestrian network. This park, along with retail, cafes, and additional parks, will create active social hubs. These social hubs will enhance the edges and frontages of the interconnected open spaces. This design aims to foster a vibrant community atmosphere.
Prime Location and Transit Access at Liberty Yard
The site, currently known as the Shops at King Liberty, includes several buildings around a surface parking lot at 75 Hanna Ave and 120 Lynn Williams St. Liberty Yard will replace this plaza with approximately 913 residential units.
The area will also benefit from upcoming transit improvements. A new transit hub is planned at the south end of Atlantic Avenue, near Exhibition GO Station, one block west of Hanna Avenue. This hub will be served by two-way all-day service and will become the western terminus of the Ontario Line subway, set to open in 2030.
